Coming Up...

Bognor 10K 2016

Paul and Kay will run this again on Sunday 15th May, so please start saving donations to be given by the end of July. If the Rotary Club are as generous as they have been in previous years this is an important fundraiser for YEA. Kay and Miranda have sponsor forms and these will be open til mid July. Feel free to come and support if you're not too busy on a Sunday morning :)

Recent events

Bognor 10k 2015

Paul and Kay Attwell ran the Bognor 10k race again on Sunday 17th May 2015 to raise funds for Youthworx-East Africa.

If you plan on giving to YEA next summer, this is a really efficient way to do so, and we can claim gift aid too if you are able to do this. This year the Rotary Club added 75% to the amount you gave! Although we could have set up a just giving page, these donations wouldn't go through The Rotary Club, so wouldn't attract their bonus. This money is a massive boost to the funds of YEA and careful use of it gives support throughout the year.

Bognor 10k 2014

Paul and Kay Attwell ran the Bognor 10k race on Sunday 18th May 2014 to raise funds for Youthworx-East Africa.

The first few years they did this The Rotary Club added 50% to sponsorship raised, which was a great help to YEA finances over the summer months. In 2011 the 510 we raised became 750! 2012 we raised 900 and the Rotary Club added 75% making the total over 1600!! We raised even more in 2013 and the Rotary Club again added 75%.

Harvest Supper 9th October 2010

The Harvest Supper held on Saturday 9th October 2010 to raise funds for a replacement vehicle for YOUTHWORX-East Africa was once again a great success in many ways.     Our thanks go to Vicky for organising it, Judy and Jackie for heading up the catering and their many helpers who helped serve, wash up and clear away at the end of the evening.
Also thanks to the 70+ people who came from near and far to enjoy a time of fellowship together over a home-cooked meal made with the produce from so many gardens, allotments and other donated items.  The total raised on the evening was 395.70 (almost 400!).
The event also gave the opportunity for additional donations totalling 1500 to be given specifically for the vehicle.   This means the whole event raised almost 1900 a great expression of encouragement and support for the work of the YEA team in Uganda.   The sale of the wrecked bus parts in Uganda plus a little saving from the team over there totals about 1000 which means we now have 2900 towards the expected budget of 4600.  A replacement vehicle is much needed to enable teams to fulfil their ministry so if you felt you missed out on this opportunity to contribute towards this, its not too late!  Wed love to receive your gift by cheque, online, or via JustGiving you can Gift Aid too if you are a UK tax payer.  (See above)

Paul and Kay's Bognor 10k 2010

On Sunday 16th May Paul and Kay Attwell ran the Bognor 10k road race in aid of YEA. We sent the Rotary Club 205 we had raised and they sent us 310 back - an added donation of 50%!

Paul ran in 48mins 49secs - a personal best. Kay ran in 1 hour 32 seconds, a little slower than last year - a very windy day again - will try to do better next year!! If you donate to YEA at this time of the year, it is an efficient way to give.

Some other past events...

'Pampered Chef'

An evening of demonstrations of cooking gadgets and some social time in November 08, raised funds for the general work of YEA.

Vicky's 'Sending Lunch'

Generous friends donated 130 for her to buy sports equipment to take with her to Hoima.

Fuelling The Fire

In October 08 a puddings and Israeli dance evening raised 374 to help to keep the vehicles going.

Fuel for Fuel

In February 2008 jacket potatoes and fillings were enjoyed by about 100 people and raised 365 to help to pay for fuel for the vehicle.

A New Vehicle for 2008!

Thanks very much to all of you who bought stars or vouchers towards a new vehicle over the Christmas period. Including gift-aid we can reclaim we raised over 300. Added to other gifts we had 1400 at the end of February.

We were given first-refusal on a Land rover discovery, which Silver's family shipped out and were given all the funding needed to buy it. It is now on the road and relieving the pressure on the 'bus'! Transport will always be an on-going expense for the work of YEA and we would love to begin to have monthly sponsors for vehicle costs. Talk to us if this is something you'd like to help with.
